lichess.org

AIDEF & GO-MAKKAH are organizing a big internet blitz tournament, the winner of which will be invited to the next International Francophone Chess Tournament in Djerba.

Rules:

THE TOURNAMENT IS OPEN TO ALL

The tournament takes place on lichess.org which is a free chess server. If you do not have an account yet, you can create it via the link https://lichess.org/signup

10 tournaments of each 2 hours of biltz games at the rate of 5 min + 3 sec are planned.

The first round will take place on Tuesday April 7 from 6 p.m. (Paris time) and then every 3 days at the same time.

(7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28 April, 1, 4 May 2020)

The winner will be the one who has totaled the most points accumulated over all 10 tournaments.

He will benefit from an invitation to the next "International Francophone Chess Tournament" which will take place in Djerba - Tunisia, from December 26, 2020 to January 4, 2021 under the following conditions: he will participate in tournaments for free, the organizers will take charge of his accommodation at the Djerba Aqua Resort 4 * hotel on an “all inclusive” formula and will also be invited to Christmas Eve festivities, the Francophonie gala dinner and excursions. Transfers will be provided on arrival and departure from Djerba Airport.

How are the scores calculated?

A victory brings 2 points, a draw 1 point and a defeat no points. If you win two consecutive games, you will start a series of points which will count double. This series is represented by a flame icon. The games that follow will then count double as long as you win. In other words, a victory will be worth 4 points, a draw 2 points and a defeat no points. For example, two wins followed by a draw will earn 6 points: 2 + 2 + (2 x 1)

How are pairings determined?

At the start of the tournament, players are matched according to their odds.

As soon as you have finished your game, return to the tournament home page: you will then be paired with a player who has a ranking close to yours. This guarantees a minimum waiting time between games, however you may not be facing every other player in the tournament.

Play fast and return to the tournament home page to play more games and earn more points.

When does the tournament end?

The tournament has a countdown. When it reaches zero, the tournament ranking is frozen and the winner of the tournament is announced. The current games must still be finished, but no longer count for the tournament.

Other important rules

There is a countdown for your first shot. If you do not make a stroke during this time, your opponent will be declared the winner. Canceling the game during the first 10 moves will not earn any points for both players.
